Siemens Set To Unveil Its Next Generation Of Chemistry And Immunoassay Systems To Achieve Higher Levels Of Workflow Efficiency In The UK

Siemens

Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics is set to showcase its next generation of chemistry and immunoassay systems for central laboratory testing at The Institute of Biomedical Science Congress 2015 (IBMS), Birmingham, in September. Building on its heritage of high throughput “automation ready” analysers, the ADVIA Chemistry XPT and ADVIA Centaur XPT Immunoassay systems provide significant software and hardware enhancements to increase reliability and further reduce operator hands on time.

“Our customers are looking for high throughput, accurate analytical systems that can enhance laboratory workflow through commonality of software and direct connectivity to automation systems whilst facilitating efficient sample management to drive towards predictable turnaround times,” states Sueann Densley, Business Manager CAI & HHS at Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics. “The ADVIA Chemistry XPT and ADVIA Centaur XPT Immunoassay systems help meet these demands by providing rapid results and supporting an efficient workflow. This in turn supports the wider hospital in delivering high quality patient care when faced with an increased demand in diagnostic testing”.

The ADVIA Chemistry XPT System provides predictable turnaround times through sample management capabilities and utilises Siemens VeriSmart® Technology, a combination of hardware and software verification checks for all stages of sample processing. Together these features enable the delivery of rapid turnaround and high-quality test results. Other features include a simple interface for ease-of-use, easy maintenance, programmable automated calibration and quality control, plus automated startup and shutdown procedures.

The ADVIA Centaur XPT Immunoassay System enables continuous operation and efficient workflow by always being ready. Whether the system is used independently or connected to an automation track, reagents and supplies can be replenished, even while processing patient samples. New features include hardware enhancements to simplify operations and software enhancements to reduce test repeat rate and improve the operator experience. The ADVIA Centaur XPT facilitates efficient and reliable delivery of test results to support clinicians in the screening, diagnosis and monitoring of complex diseases.

Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics will be hosting an official launch event to unveil the new systems at IBMS 2015 in Birmingham, along with showcasing a range of other innovative systems on stand. Siemens will also be hosting several workshops on clinical topics including innovative markers for renal disease, new assay surgery, commissioning routine ELF testing and pushing what is possible with Aptio automation.
