Self-contained modular cooling systems simplify ambient cooling. In these devices, cooling components have been integrated into standard modular cooling systems (MCS), thereby eliminating the need for customers to engineer and assemble custom cooling loops. Two basic cooling system designs are available for liquid-to-air and liquid-to-liquid applications. The MCS cools equipment using ambient air, and the LCS cools using facility water. According to the manufacturer, the components are performance matched and the systems are leak free and reliable. The compact systems have been used in scientific, laser, medical, hydraulic, and industrial applications.

The MCS line consists of eight models with cooling capabilities from 500 W up to 11,500 W. At the heart of the MCS is a copper or stainless steel heat exchanger assembly, pump, and reservoir which maintain the coolant temperature within a few degrees of the air or water that is used to cool it. The systems are suited for high-heat applications that do not require refrigerated liquid cooling or precise temperature control. Users can choose the heat exchanger capacity, fluid circuit material, pump type, and electrical system interface. They can also select a stand-alone or 19-in rack mount chassis.
