The company, a leading provider of automated systems for SPE sample preparation, has expanded its line of automated products to simplify and reduce the cost of sample preparation using SPE disk technology. The new SPE-DEX 4790 Automated Solid Phase Extractor has the versatility of handling any combination of 47mm, 50mm, and 90mm SPE disks to economically process the most difficult, high particulate samples, for a full range of environmental applications including semi-volatiles, oil and grease and TPH in Was Water, Solid Waste Leachates, or Drinking Water samples.

The SPE_DEX 4790 is a fully automated, modular 8-station extraction system that combines versatility and flexibility in one package and provides maximum speed, accuracy and simplicity to meet all SPE needs. The system delivers all necessary solvents, processes the sample, thoroughly rinses the sample bottle, and extracts the analyte(s) of interest from the SPE disk. The newly designed sample inlet valve allows even the dirtiest samples to be processed. In addition, the system includes an internal fan allowing operation directly on the lab bench, freeing up valuable hood space. The system increases productivity by allowing chemists to perform other analyses while the sample are being processed automatically.

The new SPE-DEX 1000XL Automated Extractor System is a fully automated, 1-station extraction system dedicate for oil and grease testing. With all of the automated features and benefits of its sister product, the SPE-DEX 3000XL, 3-place system, the SPE-DEX 1000XL provides maximum speed accuracy and simplicity for oil and grease extractions under EPA Method 1664A. The system delivers all necessary solvents, processes the samples, thoroughly rinses the sample bottle, and extracts the oil and grease from the SPE disk. To ensure optimal chemistry, all critical solvent pre-wetting, vacuum control, and liquid level functions are automatically handled by the system. Designed and packaged as an introductory single place system, the low cost SPE-DEX 1000XL provides laboratories with an opportunity to obtain state of the art automation at an affordable price. An upgrade option to the SPE-DEX 3000XL is also available.

To compliment the SPE-DEX 1000XL and 3000XL oil and grease Extractor series, the company's Speed-Vap II 9000 Solvent Evaporation System provides added control over the back end evaporation process, speeds up the evaporation process and improves the accuracy and consistency of oil and grease results. In addition, the Solvent Trap Recovery System can be integrated with the Speed-Vap II 9000 to add a finishing touch to oil and grease extraction by providing an environmentally responsible means for condensing and collecting the n-Hexane for disposal. The Solvent Trap recovers up to 70% of the n-Hexane solvent vapors, minimizing human exposure and pollution to the atmosphere.
